Microsoft Security Patch Release April 2010 Advance Notification

Next week's security bulletin release by Microsoft is set to see 11 Bulletins made available for Microsoft customers.

Five Critical, four Important, and one Moderate bulletins are expected with the release, covering Windows, Office, and Exchange. Eight bulletins are expected to deal with remote code execution vulnerabilities, with the remaining bulletins addressing spoofing, privilege elevation, and denial of service conditions.

This will be the last security bulletin release where patches will be provided for Windows Vista RTM (SP 0). Service Pack 1 for Vista will be supported until mid-next year, but SP 0 ceases support with this patch release. Microsoft recommends users update to SP 2 or Windows 7 to continue receiving long term support.
